Funds raised by the Foundation are used by the Academy to support its educational mission.
Since 1980, the Foundation has provided unrestricted educational grants to the Academy that are used to develop high-quality and clinically-relevant educational materials and resources for use by its members.
Grants have been used to support the Academy’s Basic and Clinical Study Courses (BCSC’s), Focal Points series and Preferred Practice Patterns®. In 2007, with the help of Foundation grants, the Academy launched the Ophthalmic News and Education (O.N.E.) network as a free member benefit which is now used by over 14,000 Academy members worldwide.
Academy members and other individuals can support the Academy’s educational mission with a gift to The Academy Education Fund which serves as the Foundation’s educational fund. Last year, members of the Academy contributed over $300,000 in support of clinical education.
Contributions of all sizes are welcome and greatly appreciated. We wish to acknowledge the following Academy members who have demonstrated a significant commitment to advancing lifelong ophthalmic education by contributing a lifetime minimum of $25,000 to the Foundation in support of the Academy’s educational mission.
Major Contributions of $25,000 or More for Ophthalmic Education

This page will be updated regularly to reflect all Academy members who reach this prestigious level of giving. We thank these donors for their generous support.
